ABOUT

The What Happened to Hannaford? campaign is a project of the New England Consumer Alliance, a new initiative calling on companies to simply do better. We listen to consumers, investigate issues, and launch campaigns to spark conversation. We are powered by a belief that change starts in the community, and that’s how we build up to industry-wide change across the grocery sector. Hannaford claims to be “local,” so we will hold them accountable at the local level. We’re tired of Hannaford going downhill, and it’s clear we’re not alone.

Since we’re a new group, we’re still building and growing. Want to get involved? Sign up for our mailing list or email media@newenglandconsumeralliance.org to join the cause and help inform our future campaigns. If you’d like to raise awareness about the issues at Hannaford in your community, we’ll send you leaflets, signs, stickers, and more.

Our on-the-ground work is supported by 501(c)3 nonprofit the Center for Responsible Food Business, which works to hold corporations like Hannaford and its parent company accountable nationally and around the world.
